Yesterday afternoon the 2010 Miss Rodeo Oregon Pageant kicked off. Our contestants each received their official banners from 2009 Miss Rodeo Oregon – Jackie Gibson. Following pageant orientation the contestants completed their written test. The test is filled with Oregon rodeo questions, horsemanship and PRCA rodeo knowledge. While the test does not count towards the title of Miss Rodeo Oregon, the contestant scoring the highest test score will be give an award.

We're up and running!
Howdy everyone!
The 2010 Miss Rodeo Oregon Pageant blog is up and running. Over the course of the pageant I'll update our blog with information, pitctures and insite from our Contestants.
Speaking of contestants we have 9 from all across our great state. On the pageant home page you can check out their photos, bios and why they would like to be Miss Rodeo Oregon. You can also find the pageant schedule and an event ticket order form.
On Saturday May 30th the girls and their parents gathered at our host hotel; Shilo Inn in Newberg for Pre-Pageant Orientation. The Andrews' Family and Columbia County Rodeo Court provided a tasty lunch of Oriental Chicken Salad. Yummy!! 2008 Miss Rodeo Oregon Nichole Andrews shared tips on how to prepare for the MRO pageant, what to expect during your reign and high lights from the Miss Rodeo America Pageant. If you don't remember, Nichole finished 6th overall, got 4th place in scrapbook and won the Western Region Scholarship. Way to go Nichole! After a few hours of information being poured in to our contestants it was time to bid farewell until June 29th.
I hope that you mark your calendar to join us during the pageant to watch the hard work our contestants have been working on to achieve their dream. One of my favorite sayings:
